Brief Profile:
Siba Sankar Mohanty has around 13 years of experience in research and advocacy in public policy issues related to public finance, education, health, gender equality and social discrimination. Over last 13 years he was instrumental in formation and evolution of several organizations and campaigns across the country and has trained more than 2500 civil society activists from several countries in South Asia on Public Budget Analysis and Advocacy. In the past he had held prestigious positions like Research and Advocacy Coordinator at Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CBGA), New Delhi; National Campaign Coordinator of WNTA-India Chapter of the Global Call for Action Against Poverty, Policy Director on Social Exclusion and Discrimination at Network for Social Accountability etc. He was also nominated as member of the ethical committees in several scientific research projects. He has written extensively towards demystification of policy jargons and simplifying economic issues for their mass use as instruments of people centered advocacy. As a member of the faculty in School of Social Sciences of the Doon University, he is currently teaching students from MA Economics and MBA streams.
Apart from teaching and research activities, he is also associated in the capacity of a forum administrator with http://lokkatha.com . Lok-Katha is a forum to promote open debate on development issues.
