In view of the delay in examinations for BA programme in several universities in Uttarakhand, the last date to apply for the MA Economics Programme at Doon University has been extended. Please find below a notice for the admissions into the MA Economics Programme.The Deaprtment of Economics also runs a Five Year Integrated MSc Programme in Economics. Please click on the link below to download Common Application Form.  All admissions will be through All India Entrance Test with 50 % Reservation for candidates from Uttarakhand. The Entrance test will be held on 17th June 2012 and the last date for submission of completed forms is 26th May 2012.

MA Programme in

ECONOMICS

Course Duration: 2 Years, Semester System

Eligibility: Graduates with 50 percent (Social Sciences and Commerce) and 60 percent (Other discipline)

HOSTEL: Fully furnished single room accommodation with WI-FI Internet connectivity for all boys and girls

Course Outline

Core Courses (Compulsory): Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematical Methods, Statistical Methods, Econometrics, Development Economics, Environmental Economics, Research Methodology

Specialisation Courses: (3 in a group to be chosen) Economics of Discrimination, Contract Theory, Applied Econometrics, Game Theory, Economics of Energy and Infrastructure, Issues in Environmental Economics, Public Economics, Agricultural Economics, Gender Economics-Women and the Economy, Regional Development or Regional Economics-with special emphasis on Uttarakhand, International Trade and International Finance, History of Economic Thought, Economics of Industrial Organization and Strategy, Decentralization and Development, Special Topics ( could include any issue that is of interest to students and a particular instructor)
